Five Busiest Airports in a World

The following is the list of the busiest airport in the world according to the total number of passengers travels either its departure or arrival. This list was calculated in 2016 only but list to stay more or less the same every year.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International:

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International airport again hovered as world’s busiest airport in 2016, accommodating more than 100 million passengers. Atlanta has made again leaving behind Beijing cling its title of the busiest airport in the world. And over 100 million passengers pass via Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International airport in the year 2015. According to preliminary traffic, a rise of 5.5% was seen in 2014 in passengers recorded by Airport council international. It has topped the list of busiest airports since 1998. The council gives credit to its strategic location and its connecting port with north-America.

Beijing Capital International Airport:

As expected, Beijing was supposed to make it to the top of the list, unfortunately, it failed to enjoy the double-digit growth like previous years. According to Airport international council around 8.9 million passengers passes over the airport throughout the year which results in an increase in traffic by 4.4%. Beijing added enormous Terminal 3 in the family making it the sixth-largest building in the world. Airport’s main hub is Air china, which carries passengers out of Beijing on about 120 different destinations. Beijing international airport is considered as Asia’s busiest airport. It’s amazing structures and construction have made it look luxurious. The total cover area of the airport is 2330 ha which obviously also makes it the largest airport in the world.

Dubai International Airport:

Dubai made it to the busiest airport in the list at 4th position. Increasing in tariff made it up to the third position in the list of the busiest airport in the world. Dubai international airport enjoys massive distinctions. In 2014, about 70 million passengers traveled abroad through Dubai international airport leaving behind London Heathrow airport with 68 million. Dubai’s duty-free is considered as world’s successful and best retailer, approx 1.8$ billion sales were recorded through this duty-free in the year 2013. After completion of terminal 3 in 2008, Dubai was said to have the largest building with 18.4 million square ft but later china took the place by building new century china global center.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport:

Moving up to the fourth position in 2015 from seventh, with estimated growth of 9.8%. Tokyo Haneda International Airport:

Tokyo Haneda airport made up fifth on the list of the busiest airport in the world. A number of passenger passes through Tokyo airport was around 75 million in 2015. A clear rise of 3.4% was seen in the year 2014. Tokyo Haneda international airport is said to be a second largest airport in Asia after china. After winning the bid for summer Olympics (20-20) the Japanese government plans on expanding airport’s capacity more. Haneda is the primary hub for Japan airlines and Nippon airways. The operators involve are Japan civil aviation Bureau, Tokyo international air terminal Corp, and lastly Japan airport terminal Co.

The list of busiest airport keeps changing every year but more or less stay the same.
