Take a cooler in the car
As with so many other trips, it often takes many hours on the road (or in an unbearably long line on the highway). Therefore, it may be a good idea to bring a cooler of food and beverages. Unfortunately, no one is allowed to bring the cooler in the amusement parks, so it’s only for keeping you hydrated on the road.
It is also helpful that you can also save some money by eating before entering the amusement park. There are usually a lot of restaurants and delicious food stalls that are ready to tempt both you and the children.
The parking lots can be huge
You must prepare yourself for the car parking at most amusement parks are huge. If you arrive early, you will be able to drive into an almost empty car park with hundreds of free seats next to each other. You can conveniently park near the entrance to the amusement park.
Most importantly, you must make sure to park your car somewhere where you can remember the location. It’s no wonder that the parking areas are called “lots”.
Try to Arrive early
This brings us to our next point. While most amusements parks do not open until almost mid-morning, you can still enter the park before the rides are even open.
This is highly advisable as it gives you enough time to find a parking spot, remember its location, make your way through the front gates (jump the queue for those who bought them online – highly recommended) and explore the park by walking around or by studying the map.
You will spend a lot of time in the sun
The amusement parks are absolutely amazing. But finding a shade is rare commodity there. Therefore, remember to have enough sunscreen with you and you can choose to drive home late in the day after the sun has set.
You can also benefit from sun protection clothing, a shadow hat or maybe an umbrella.
You are not the only one in the park
Amusement parks are incredibly popular. Both in good as well as bad weather. There will always be a lot of people so you can look forward to being among many other people, laughing, screaming and whatever else may sound like an amusement park with fun rides.
High season is on holiday and weekends. You may be lucky to come at a less popular time such as during the weekends during the schooling period of the children
Have a meeting place
It is a good idea to have designated a venue where you can always find each other if you are separated from each other.
Have comfortable shoes on
It is highly recommended that you make sure you have some comfortable shoes. You are likely to walk a lot throughout the day.
